Traditional Lacquers & Metallics
Delve into the age-old traditions of glossy lacquer paint for indoor and outdoor surfaces
Traditional Paint Lacquer
Our Traditional Paint is a durable water-based lacquer paint available in eggshell and high-gloss. Our high-quality lacquer paint can be applied indoors and outdoors to doors, frames, woodwork, MDF, walls, radiators, PVC, and metal.
The benefits of Tradition Paint lacquer include:
- Two sheen finishes—eggshell and high-gloss.
- Over 200 naturally pigmented colors.
- A solvent-free and low VOC environmentally friendly paint.
- Paint is made from high-quality natural ingredients in our 100% solar-powered factory.
Traditional Paint Elements Collection – Metallic
Our Elements Metallic Collection is a true reflection of luxurious alloys and elements. The paint contains an elegant, unique, and mysterious metallic shine that gives a unique experience of color from every angle. The particular way of application adds a unique texture by moving around the metallic particles. We recommend applying it on top of Marrakech Walls for additional depth, texture, and drama.
Besides the regular color collection, it is also available in Gold, Brass Bronze, Rose Gold, Copper, Silver, and Gunmetal.

Sample options and pro-tips
Color accuracy
Although minor differences may occur because of the sheen, lacquer paints appear similar to the color card.
Samples recommended
Digital screens are not a reliable source for color selection. It’s best to order our hand-painted color card.
250 ml color sample pots are available for purchase. Select your color and sample size to test for a more accurate color representation on your surface and light conditions (color samples are represented in the Classico matte finish.) We also carry sample pot packages of the Element Metallic lacquer.
Surface preparation
It’s important to select the right primer for optimal results, adhesion, and durability. The primer that works best depends on the substrate. If you are unsure which primer to select, please check the technical sheet, or we will gladly advise. In some cases, the use of primer can be skipped. For Metallics, it is essential to use primer in the recommended matching color or in a contrasting color for a special effect.
Pro tip
Apply the High Gloss finish with a brush to achieve the highest gloss.
Please note that imperfections are more noticeable with glossy finishes than with matte ones and may require a level 5 finish.

What is the difference between eggshell and high-gloss paint finishes?
Eggshell and high-gloss paint finishes differ in their sheen levels and aesthetic qualities. Eggshell finishes have a subtle, low sheen resembling the surface of an eggshell, providing a soft, smooth appearance. In contrast, high-gloss finishes deliver a shiny and reflective surface, offering a bold and vibrant look. Please note that imperfections are more noticeable within high-gloss finishes than with matte ones and may require a level 5 finish and a more skilled hand for application.
Unlike some gloss finishes, all Pure & Original Tradition Paints finishes are durable and easy to clean.

How do you apply lacquer paints?
Applying lacquer gloss paints like Traditional Paint starts with a clean, smooth, and prepped surface. In some cases, proper adhesion and color coverage require preparation with our OmniPrim or Wallprim primer in the same color. Do not paint in direct sunlight. Stir the lacquer paint according to our instructions and apply it evenly using a brush or airless spray. Application by roller is not preferred for the high gloss finish.
Our Japanese Spatula is recommended to achieve the textured result of the Elements Metallic collection. Find our tools here.
We refer to the Traditional Paint technical data sheet per finish for detailed instructions. See eggshell finish, high-gloss finish, or Elements metallic finish.
